When I saw the Miniature Horse Mare "Lilly" win her first Country Pleasure Driving class of the day, I was blown away by her beauty and movement and made my way to the barn to meet her owner and ask if I could take reference photos to someday sculpt my ideal Mini mare. She gladly consented, but neither of us realized this well cared for little mare would fall victim to laminitis, the same terrible disease that cost the valient Thoroughbred Barbaro his life.

After losing "Lilly", her owner commissioned me to create this memorial portrait LILLY-ETERNAL GRACE in her honor. She wanted to share her beautiful little mare and incouraged me to cast her as a limited edition.
