MADEMOISELLE PERCHERON NOIR is the black version of the portrait of "Nakita", the beautiful three year old leader in the Simpson Percheron Hitch. Mares rarely have the brilliant action and presence to be a leader, much less as a three year old, but "Nakita" had it in spades as shown in the blurry reference photo with her on the right.
MADEMOISELLE PERCHERON GRIS is the gray version of the bronze I first had cast in black to match the color "Nakita", the then three year old lead mare in the Simpson 6-Horse Hitch, was at the time. Like all grays, she began as a black, but the MADEMOISELLE PERCHERON GRIS more nearly matches her color as a mature mare. Black Percheron hitches are predominant in the showring because of the difficulty in matching gray horses that continue to lighten with age.
