EXUBERANCE is actually the lovely, many times Pleasure Driving Champion Belgian mare "Sophie". Her gay abandon as she raced around the Draft Horse Classic turnout arena kept me snapping her picture.

Reviewing the photos immediately made me think of the reference shots I had been keeping in the back of my mind of Clay Meier’s beautiful Friesian "Aaron" balanced on one foot at a collected canter. With that contrast, I just had to sculpt them back to back as ELEGANCE and EXUBERANCE.
